As any blogger will know, there comes a time when even the most well versed, knowledgeable, and hard working blogger can hit the obstacle known as writer’s block, at which point it seems almost impossible to write anything at all, let alone…
Content Worthy of a
Blog’s Front Page !
This happens to the best of us, and the question really isn’t how to avoid it, but how to overcome it. We’ll tackle that today with 5 of my favorite simple-yet-effective ways for…
Smashing Writer’s Block to
Pieces !
1. Write About Something Else
Many times writers block hits us because we’re focusing so hard on coming up for topics for our blog that we can’t get the creative juices flowing. It’s kind of like trying to chew…
Without Opening Your Jaw !
Rather than sit and stress about a new topic, I find that shifting focus to another topic can help break the pressure and help me…
Right the Ship !
Many times I’ll sit and write about my goals, my previous day (journal style), or just a piece of fiction I’ve been chewing on inside my head. The key is just to write, whether stream of consciousness or planned, until…
You Get Hit
By Inspiration !
It might not come immediately, but it will come.
Just Keep Writing !
2. Revisit an Old Post
If you absolutely can’t think of anything to say, then why not revisit an old post and offer an analysis of it based on your current way of thinking? Maybe you’ve changed your mind about something, or you have an update on a previous topic. You don’t always have to conjure a post out of thin air; sometimes our old writing will jar that block loose long enough to…
Get Something Published !
3. Write About Writer’s Block
This is a sort of hack that I use when nothing else works. I sit and write about how frustrated I am about my writer’s block. I might even create a story around it. The key here is to be honest and open about your frustration. Somehow, it usually helps release the tension…
Keeping Me from
Being Creative !
4. Read Other Blogs
I’m not recommending that you steal content, but rather that you find something that fires you up so that you can either expand on the argument, or refute it. I’ll admit, this is tough to do, as writer’s block also seems to function as reader’s block, but it’s worth a try. A little bit of passion…
Might Do the Trick !
5. I Take it Easy On Myself
Many times, writer’s block is a sign that I’m being too strict on my own writing requirements. Maybe it’s time I give myself permission to write poorly for a while. Also, if I go through periods where I’m mostly serious for a time, then I find that giving myself permission to play can help me…
Overcome
My Writer’s Block !
There really is no right way to overcome writer’s block, so save what works best for you, which means you need to start collecting these tools now, before you actually have the block. Then when it hits, you’ll have a quiver full of arrows that you can use to…

Hi Wong,
The best way I deal with writers block is to read other blogs. I especially go to blog directories and skim through the submissions. If something interesting strikes my eye I open it in a tab.
I read a lot and take notes of smashing ideas that come when I am reading. So at the end of the evening I will have a long list of ideas to write on. Writer’s block battled to success
Cheers,
Jane.

Ya, that’s a great way and I too read other blogs but although I do not read as often as I do now, but still it is a good way to get a list of smashing ideas…
I was once struck by the writers block. And since then it has become one of my nightmares. Thank you for posting this. I think I can now breathe easy.

Well, relax a bit and take it easy, don’t stress yourself when you have got no idea to write, just go do something else… eventually idea will start to flow in…
When I get stuck for some inspiration, often times i take it as a cue that perhaps I have nothing meaningful to contribute – so often blogs are regularly updated with superfluous content that is not really that helpful or meaningful.
So, maybe take a short walk outside and be grateful for your existence and by looking at things from a different perspective you may indeed stumble across a thought or inspiration for your next post – who knows?

Yes, usually inspiration appear when you don’t think about it, that is why a short walk outside and looking around might help to make you mind flow through the walls of block…
Thank you so much for sharing some tips with us, yes sometimes when your brain freezes and you can’t think of anything to share this happens and lately this has been happening to me I just don’t know why. Will be trying your methods and I’ll drop by again after a couple of weeks. Kudos!

Feel free to try the above method, especially the last one… take it easy and do something else, I’m sure you will come up with something…
Writing creative content is everything for a blogger. I always have toya on my desk that I can tinker on (a matchbox,a finger board and a fingercycle to be exact) . When I am lost for words, I just stop ,take a deep breath (a really hard drag) and play. Most of the time, it cures my temporary numbness. Very Nice post!

Writing is an exercise. The more you do it the easier it will become.
Brainstorming, or just simple following up on an old post (point #2) are great ways to get ideas.
I like to merge topics that has nothing to do with my blog and see how they apply to it.
