If you want to be a successful blogger, you have to follow the right blogs. This is important not only for you to learn about your market and the problems they face, but also to establish valuable connections with…

Important Individuals
in the Community !

Here’s a quick list of indicators that will help you determine whether you’re reading the right blogs and following the right people.

1. It’s an Authority Site

If the blog you’re reading is an authority blog, you hit the jackpot. But how do you determine if you’re dealing with an authority blog, though? It’s quite easy, actually. When you get into your market, you’ll see that people talk about a number of right blogs they like to read. Those right blogs that get talked about the most, will be…

The Most Beneficial
For You !

Another thing you can do is take a look at back links pointing to it. If you see important sites in your market linking to it, you’ll be fine.

2. Right Blogs Publish Quality Content

Obviously, high-quality right blogs in your market will have authors and publishers that understand what they are talking about. In other words, the content they have published on them will be…

Factual,
Authoritative and
Informative !

3. People Love to Comment On Them

Another thing to keep in mind is that right blogs will have a lot of comments under each one of the posts it has published. The people belonging to your market know where to go to find quality information and…

Actionable Solutions to
Their Problems !

They spend time researching online communities where they can talk with like minded individuals. Once they find it, they will be more than happy to hang around there talking, exchanging opinions and…

Each Other !

It’s not uncommon to see long heated conversations going on under controversial blog posts. People simply love to express themselves when they know…

Someone is
Listening !

4. Good Traffic

Of course, those right blogs will have a lot of traffic coming to them. This again has to do with the fact that word about a quality blog in the market spreads like wild fire. Whenever someone takes the time to help the community out, they’ll gladly recommend those right blogs to their friends and family, thus making those right blogs…

Go Viral !

5. The Publisher Will Interact With His Readers

One of the sure fire signs of a dead blog is lack of interaction. If you come across a blog, and you know that the blog owner doesn’t talk to the people that take the time to visit it and comment on what he has to say, chances are he doesn’t care about them, and…

He Doesn’t Care
About You !

To him you’re just a stat, not a real person.

6. Good Usability

High quality right blogs will be relatively easy to navigate and use. Go ahead and take a look at the most popular right blogs in your market. What do you see? Although they’re huge, they’re easy to navigate and use, right?

Exactly !

There you go. I’ve shared with you pointers on what makes a good blog to read. Now, if you haven’t done so already, go ahead and find some right blogs, get involved with whoever runs them and…

Nice post,

I agreed with you we should read only that kind of blog post where we can get as much as information regarding good tools which we can easily use in our site or blog post and get good response from these tools.

Beside that if any newbie start to do blogging then i think he/she will need to read many blog post because i think after some times he/she will judge himself which blog post he/she should read and which one shouldn’t.

I can tell that I’m on the right blog when I can sense that the blogger is very helpful and that he gives importance to the readers and not to the traffic that the blog will gain. Besides, increased traffic is quite impossible when a blog does not make sense at all.

Well, actually blog that doesn’t help will not get much traffic, but blog that doesn’t make sense will… I mean those blog that talks crap and you know we just like crap stuff (joking) anyway, I know what you mean, and I do agree bloggers like us will always feel if the blog is right, if it did help us out in terms of information and knowledge, and hopefully my blog make sense though sometime it don’t make sense :)

Will, my best recommendation is to read the blogs I had been featured in on the right sidebar, I mean I place them there for a meaning not just to show I had been featured, because those blogs are not just great and awesome but also the lights of giving me ideas :)

Hi Wong,
Many reasons why I read a blog have you already describe, but I am always looking for blogs that write unique and unusual topics. Today there are so many well-known blogs that copy each other’s theme/title in the belief that they have missed something interesting, and it’s sad.

Well, I also like to read unique and unusual topics, but it is very hard to find and hopefully my blog theme is interesting to you, I mean though I uses the old structure of my previous theme but at least I hope the design part does stand out from other blogs.

Good points. I look for all of those attributes in a good blog for sure. Sites that have a steady and regular flow of posts with good content, a healthy reader base that post meaningful comments that add to the discussion as well as participation in those comments by the blogger are the things I look forward to the most. Your site is definitely one of the top blogs I look forward to visiting everyday!
