Today we’re going to talk about content writing, and how you can improve your blogging so that you’re not just a decent writer, but one of the best writing bloggers in the business. People love to mention that content is king, and I do find that writing good content is the quickest and surest way to getting attention and…
Earning More Readers !
One of the ways to do that is by getting out of your comfort zone and becoming more expressive, writing explosive content that energizes, rather than exhausts your audience. Here’s how you can do just that.
1. Tell a Story
Pontificating is nice, but most people can’t connect with you unless you give them a way to do so, which is where telling personal stories and anecdotes comes into play. Don’t just talk, share something from your own life that people can connect to. This is the difference between getting a nice round of applause and getting…
A Standing Ovation !
2. Lead with Your Best Shot

So many bloggers take forever to get to the point that they lose their audience before they get to the first subhead. Stop trying to walk slowly into the point and just drop them in via parachute, right into the action. This is a surefire way to get their adrenaline flowing, and…
Their Nervous System
Ready to Take it All in !
3. Leave an Action Item At the End
Don’t just end the post with “and this is how they lived, happily ever after,” but with an action step. What should they do after reading your post? How should people respond? Tell them what they need to do, and be explicit about it. The best way to keep them feeling good about your writing is to show them…
How They Can Use it !
4. Use Powerful Content Imagery
Do these phrases feel different to you?
It’s obvious…the second one feels more real because it’s vivid and descriptive, which is the same type of style you need to use for everything you write. Don’t be egregiously verbose, but there’s nothing wrong with using powerful words to paint a picture that can impact your audience so that they not only read the post, but…
Remember and
Feel Inspired By it !
5. Tie in Pop Culture
Copyblogger does this amazingly well, sometimes almost so often that it becomes obnoxious, but still it’s a great lesson on how to connect with an audience. You’ll find posts that use everything from Eminem to Fight Club to paint a picture and tell stories that feel larger than life. For example, right now would be a perfect time to use a Harry Potter reference, or if you’re really brave…
An Amy Winehouse
Anecdote !
If you speak to an audience on their level, you are much more likely to make an impact. So that’s it, 5 great ways to write explosive content that gets your audience out of their chair and ready to change the world. Which is your favorite?
Stay Explosive,

I think this line say it all “If you speak to an audience on their level, you are much more likely to make an impact.” If you’re not reaching the reader your wasting your time period!

Ran across you on Digg this time before I checked my reader. Nice article Wong, especially the call to action. I like what ExtremeJohn.com does by adding a final paragraph with “Your Turn” on it.

Hey Wong,
Great Write Up!
All of the 5 methods are sure fire ways to writing explosive content that can capture the readers. The only one I am unfamiliar with is the 4th point. I have never actually thought about that. You are right. The 2nd example is more like reality (uses vivid descriptions) so that it stays on mind.
I will surely try that strategy.
Thank you for sharing the post, Wong!

Well, have you ever read a game book such as “Lone Wolf” and such, it’s the way they wrote stuff that makes you imagine if you were in there, and 4th point is very useful when you are going to relate stories into your posts.
And that is why games books had a great deal of a market nowadays even in mobile version…

Just want to add to the point about writing great headlines! Not only should they be attention-grabbing, but they should also use keywords that accurately describe the content in your article. Otherwise nobody except your existing blog community will be able to find you. Using keywords makes it more likely that people will find you in a Google or Bing search. I am often surprised at how many bloggers neglect to use keywords in their titles!

“….Leave an Action Item At the End…” I think this one is then most important one, specially for bloggers. I have seen this in many blogs and you can easily see the effect of it by the number of comments. It works!
Since I noticed this technique, I started incorporating it at the end of my posts as well.
