If you’ve been following The Bad Blogger for any length of time, or taking an active part in the Internet Marketing community, you’ve probably heard of Michael Fortin. He’s considered to be one of the best copywriters around, who’s been known to increase conversion rates and ROI’s dramatically. What you might not know about him is, he started out as a very shy door-to-door salesman who was terrified of rejection. In fact, the reason why he got into sales is he wanted to…
Overcome
that Fear !
Years passed, he knocked a whole lot of doors, was rejected a whole lot of times, and now he can proudly say his fear of rejection is gone. Right now he’s a great salesman, businessman and entrepreneur, who helps hundreds of people all over the world to…
Achieve Success
in Their Lives and
Businesses !
Well, something interesting happened this morning. A few hours ago, I was interviewing a young man for a sales position in one of my businesses, and as I was talking to him, I realized people who are not entrepreneurial at heart, those who want a nine-to-five and a check at the end of each month, seem to be…
More Afraid of
Rejection than
Failure !
On the other hand, business people are the exact opposite. They don’t mind getting rejected, but they can’t stand failure. It’s not in their vocabulary. What I want you to realize is whether you want it or not, rejection and failure are everywhere around you. If you haven’t experienced them already…
You Will
Eventually !
If you think about it for a moment, you’ll realize you can get rejected as you look for a job or, if you sell physical products door-to-door, like Michael Fortin did. You can feel rejected when you spend hundreds of hours trying to sell something online, but people just…
Don’t Want to
Buy it !
You can even feel rejected when you ask a girl out and she says no. Rejection is everywhere. The thing about rejection, though, is it’s usually short term and temporary in how it affects your life. I mean, even if you knock one hundred doors and get rejected one hundred times, you can still knock another one, and if you do, as the law of averages attests…
Someone is
Going to Say Yes to You
Sooner or Later !
In other words, as long as you don’t give up, every rejection will bring you closer to finally getting accepted. On the other hand, the effects of failure seem to be more devastating and lasting. The changes it creates can be deep and damaging. If you feel you’ve failed in life, it might be difficult for you to get up and…
Pull Yourself
Together Again !
But again, it’s crucial for you to understand that rejection and failure are everywhere, and they’re just part of your life, as breathing and eating is. They happen, and you can’t hide from them. The great thing is you will get through both of them, if that’s what you want. No matter how many times you’ve gotten rejected or failed…
You Can Get Up and
Keep Going !
Sure, at first you’ll feel depressed and discouraged, but that will pass relatively soon. If you put your mind to it, you will alter your life, and it will be improved because of the failure or rejection you had to go through. I like to think of everything in life as a learning process. When you fail or get rejected, you need to look at what you can improve, make the necessary plans to change, regroup and keep going. That’s…
How You Create
Greatness in Life !

None of the successful people you read about or see in movies have been born successful. They’ve had to face failure and rejection long before they became who they are now, and they still face those things all the time. You can take every experience, no matter how difficult and learn from it. You can look at what you have accomplished each day right before you go to sleep, draw conclusions and get up rejuvenated and motivated the next day. You can achieve anything you desire, if…
You Don’t
Give Up !
Giving up and throwing in the towel is the ultimate failure. It happens when you decide you’re going to stop trying and move on to something else. I don’t want you to ever do that. Why? Because it doesn’t work. You see, if something is worth your while, it’s going to bring rejection and failure before you see success. If you’ve spent a lot of time learning and working on something, there’s no point in giving up and starting something new from scratch. If you do, the only thing you’ll accomplish is start over. It might be refreshing, but…
Is a Terrible
Waste of Time !
You might be tempted to start something new, when you begin seeing that you’re failing at what you’re currently doing, but I can tell you from personal experience if you ever get serious with that something new, you’ll fail at it, too, initially. This is not because you can’t do anything right, but because that’s…
One of the
Laws of Success !
Success will come, but first you’ll experience hardships, rejection and failure. That’s just how it is. So, do not give up and get distracted just because something gets hard. Instead, keep at it. Keep trying, and you’ll soon see great things happening. How do I know? If you’ve read this book “The Guy Behind the Bad Blogger Manual” you probably already know I’ve failed miserably and was rejected by dozens of people before…
I Succeeded At
What I Do !
I’ve been where you are now and I know you will succeed eventually, if you follow a solid plan. It will be hard. It will take time and a great deal of effort, but you will succeed, no matter what it is you’re trying to accomplish.
That’s a
Promise !

Hi Wong,
Several good advice – my advice to my sellers is always: You should always analyze after each client meeting what was good or bad and what could you have done better. This is the only way to get better.
I have lean so much ideas in your blog again. Thank you for sharing it.

Brilliant work here. Back to the title. I guess in my case I’m more scared of rejection than failure. Because failing means I can still give it another try and eliminate the error but rejection, that’s something completely out of hand.

I think anyone in his right mind would fear failure and rejection. It’s something we shouldn’t take to lightly on any given scenario. It helps us improve as a person.

Being a blogger, what is required most from is, to believe in yourself. If you can not believe in yourself, you will keep doing silly mistakes and it will be just a waste of time as you mentioned..

Hey Wong,
One of the things I learned about rejection or any other fears is that once we face it, it dissolves. I have a friend who started off as a salesman for electronic parts. Eventually he started his own electronics business and sold it for a ton of money.
Take Care.

Hi Wong .
Illuminating share.
Rejection is never welcoming but it shouldn’t be something that we permit to take away happiness from our life. The right approach should be to accept rejection as a part of life and to acknowledge that what really matters is finding a way to bounce back and try again.
For a moment I thought I was in a pornography website. The contents are good but the photos are disturbing.
What do you intend yo achieve with these erotic pictures?

Then what do you intend to achieve by commenting ‘disturbing”? Didn’t you read the comment policy before commenting?

I have to admit I’m not regular for the past months, well… I’m getting busy with my offline business as there are too many work to be done before it become stable as it goes and moreover I still need to put more time with my wife and my baby, so time is very little for me, but I kept on moving even if it’s slow in progress

Wong m back again, took me so long to go through this post (cos the site might have faced downtime for more than 1 hour).
Here, for me, I would rather fear the rejection because I feel, I would fail if I might have done something wrong on my part but people rejection makes it sure that I surely did blunder!
Thanks for ‘Michel Fortin Blog, I m going there nw.

Hey, welcome back
Didn’t know my site was down… but I believe my site is on the heavy site, so loading might be a problem if the internet speed is slow, but anyway… you might want to search for an interview that Micheal Fortin did with the legendary Gary Halbert. It is 4 parts inteview which is free to download at his blog.

I am currently far more afraid of failure then rejection. Just have to keep my head together and start reading and working properly I guess.

Wow, Wong. Powerful post with great advice, I’ve always been more afraid of rejection than failure but thanks to reaching some personal goals in my life (weight loss of over 100 pounds, starting my own company) I can proudly say that I have conquered both those fears. The thing is to not let anything you fear hold you back, you gotta dive in head first and really fight to conquer those fears that hold you back from any goals you want to achieve.
