7 Powerful Trigger Words You Can Use In Your Blogging Headline to Get More Eye Balls Attention!

Thumbnail image for 7 Powerful Trigger Words You Can Use In Your Blogging Headline to Get More Eye Balls Attention!

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, then you’ll know how I feel about great copywriting – it isn’t just important, but essential to your success. The problem with copywriting though is that if you don’t start with a headline, then the rest doesn’t matter -

People
Won’t Read it !

So today I’m going to share my headline cheat sheet, which you can use to turn even the most horrid headline into one so powerful, that readers can’t help themselves but to dig in and…

Read the Heck
Out of Your Post !

1.  Cutting-Edge

Who can resist phrase like cutting edge? It’s new, it’s sleek, and it’s sexy. Use this when you have something brand new or even something experimental to share.

Here’s an example:

3 Cutting-Edge Facebook Marketing Secrets the Guru’s Won’t Tell You about!

2.  Bulletproof

People love this one because it guarantees against failure, which is the number one fear of most entrepreneurs. Since bullet proof conquers fear, it’s perfect for sales pages and marketing materials.

Example:

Read This! The Marketer’s Guide to Bulletproof Sales Copy!

3.  Little-Known

Who doesn’t want to know something that others don’t know about? Little-known means  that it’s secret, and it’s special. Exclusivity = profit.

Example:

Here are 10 Little-Known Secrets to Internet Marketing Success!

4.  Dead Solid

Dead solid is close to bulletproof, but is a nice change of pace to signify that these what you’re teaching is tried and tested. People want tactics that work, and dead solid is a great way to say that…

Without Actually Saying it !

Example:

3 Dead Solid Ways to Turn Your Readers into Buyers!

5.  Simple-Yet-Effective

This one is pulled straight from late night TV, but they use it because it works. Who wants complicated? Not me! Who wants ineffective? Nobody does. Show me something that’s simple yet effective, and it means…

I Can Implement it
Right Now !

Example:

5 Simple-Yet-Effective Ways to Improve Conversions in Just 30 Minutes!

6.  Down and Dirty

Admittedly, I love this one. I mean really, who doesn’t like to get down and dirty? All joking aside, down and dirty is the bad boy that all the girls love. It’s attractive because we’re not supposed to like it, and because of that…

We Can’t Help
But to Look !

Here’s an example:

10 Down and Dirty Ways to Get Her to Say Yes!

(yep, that one is dirty)

7. Unfair Advantage

People like to say they like fairness, but that’s only in respect to their own self-interests. Most people won’t admit it, but they love to have an unfair advantage. It’s an easy button, and we can’t help ourselves. Unfair advantage is the kind of headline you click…

When No One is Looking,
But it Works !

A final example:

3 Email Tips So Good, You’ll Have an Unfair Advantage Over Your Competition!

Stay Creative,

Love the headlines here, Wong!

I think rock solid is a good alternative to dead solid. Foolproof is a great alternative to bullet proof. Shocking, Free, Breakthrough, Announcing, Seductive, Hypnotic, etc. are all great words to add into your headlines to evoke emotion and get results. :)

Ya, all the words your mention, does evoke emotion, especially “Free” and “Seductive” both are words almost anyone can’t ignore not to at least read what is it all about.
So, which one of the word had you use that had the best results?

Allison Duncan May 25, 2011 at 1:03 am

I totally agree. It is all about how you pitch it. Even it you are selling cupcakes, tossing in a “Low Sugar option to Cake” in the headline will pull folks in.

Just make sure you aren’t selling the same old same old dressed up in new rags. People will still ignore you if you attempt that.

For making any blog attractive one must pay attention on the title first and then after comes the content which also must be unique to get the more eyes on them.
