So, what is the number one and the most important part of writing a killer copy? I bet you already know the answer. It is, of course, the writing of a attention grabbing headline. If you are a copywriter, you should know there is a formula for writing a good headline, and that is…
AIDA
Listen to this: A Strong concept can often overcome a weak copy. But, a good copy, no matter how brilliantly written can almost never overcome the handicap of a weak concept and “off-target” strategy. Still and all, the ability to write “killer” copy is a vital ingredient.
Which stands for:
- Attention
- Interest
- Desire
- Action
But within this four words, there are 4 important ingredients that need to be focus in order to create and build a good headline. In this particular post, I’m going to go deep into the core of AIDA by showing you the 4 important ingredient you need to know, to craft a good headline.
Ingredient Number 1 :
Start your headline with words of emotional “NEWS”…
For example:
- Announcing…
- Introducing…
- Presenting…
- New…
- Now…
- At Last…
- Warning…
- Finally…
- Discover…
Ingredient Number 2 :
Feature your headline with irresistible offers…
For example:
- Feature reduce price
- Feature an easy payment plan
- Feature free offer
- Feature information of value
Ingredient Number 3 :
Begin or insert you headline with emotional curiosity words…
For example:
- How to…
- Which…
- Why…
- Who else…
- What…
Ingredient Number 4
Address your headline to a specific person, group, date or time. By using “specific,” is to create a believability to the prospect’s mind. The more ‘specific” you are, the more trust your prospect will have towards your claim. Here’s a headline by Gary Halbert, that had 3 ingredient in a headline…

you are right, google doesn’t like long title, but you must understand a very important element and that is… you are writing to a human not a system… what I mean is if you are writing just to get ping by google… will and keyword title will do.. but if you want to be writing to a human… then long title might work extremely well if it got the AIDA formula installed in it…
