5 Reasons You Should Dump SEO And Keywords Stuff Right Away, If You Do Not Know Anything About Them !

Thumbnail image for 5 Reasons You Should Dump SEO And Keywords Stuff Right Away, If You Do Not Know Anything About Them !

I have written this post last year on June 26, 2009. Well, I have re-written it and added a few words into the title itself. First of all, this post will not be a favor by most SEO and keywords fans out there. So if you are a crazy fan of SEO and Keywords stuff, well…

I Highly Recommend
You Not To Read On Because
You Will Never Understand
What I’m About To Say !

Ok, you ready? Let’s dive right into it. Here’s the question…

Does
“Building Quality Content And They Will Come”,
Right Or Wrong ?

The answer is simply… Right. But the first question you need to really answer yourself is…

Does Your Content…
A Quality Content?

If not, the very first question will never be… Right. There are many, many internet marketers and people out there who still believe in SEO and keywords stuff, but to me when I started out I never believe in them and even while I’m re-writing this post. Below are 5 reasons I want you to follow along with me.

Reason Number 1 :

If you are not an expert in SEO or Keywords stuff, don’t ever go and do research about them, because you are just…

Wasting Your Time !

You can always hire expert to do it for you if you want to because time equals money. You should be spending time to do something you are good in that could create bag of cash for you  rather then spending time to understand what the Google spider is heading.

Reason Number 2 :

High traffic blogs like John Chow, Problogger, Shoemoney and even great web base site like the “Gary Halbert Letter“… they had never throw in a brunch of keywords in their content to get the search engine to find them because to them “Content Is King.”

Have You Ever Seen Them
Rank Top In The Keyword
For “Make Money Online” Or “Internet Marketing ?”

Surely is a no. Right? Why? Because their way of getting traffic isn’t to rank high in search engine for certain keywords, they get traffic from social marketing and word-of-mouth marketing. And one last thing I almost forget to tell you is…

Their Traffic Isn’t Random Search Traffic
But Hard-Core Traffic
That Are not Just Targeted
But Also Real People
Who Trust And Believe In Them !

Reason Number 3:

“Content Is King,” this words are always use almost everywhere on the internet, but without the “Queen” you can never had a “Prince,” and much or less have a “Princess.” What I mean is, having the “King” as the content, you need to have the “Queen” as the delivery system, and eventually the “Prince” which is the traffic, will be born, and finally the Princess which is another important role will be…

Word Of Mouth !

Did I mention any SEO and Keywords Stuff? Surely is a no.

Reason Number 4:

Copyblogger had a post with this headline…

How Facebook Is Gunning The Google (And Killing SEO) !

Here’s a short paragraph of what it say:

Facebook claims that its subscriber base over age 35 doubled in size between February and April of 2009 – just sixty days. That’s not only impressive for a site as huge as Facebook already is, but it means that your mother-in-law is likely on Facebook just like mine, and one of them is probably about to order a Mafia hit on the other. That growing audience means traffic to any website that gets a link on Facebook. How much traffic? The analysts at Hitwise claim that celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton now gets more traffic from Facebook than from Google – more than 7 million pageviews from Facebook alone. If that trend increases, then the current wisdom about web traffic is about to get turned on its ear.

Here’s another one:
Traditional search engine marketing seeks to draw the attention of people searching for particular terms in Google, Yahoo, or other search engines. And that’s going to continue to be useful for a long time.

But the rise of Facebook creates a growing segment of the web that’s completely invisible to search engines – most of which, Facebook blocks – and can be seen only by logged-in Facebook users. So as Facebook becomes ever larger, and keeps more users inside its walled garden, your web site will need to appear in Facebook’s feeds and searches or you will miss out on an important source of web traffic.

So after reading that, I bet Facebook, My Space and Twitter, might just kill the…

Damn Eight-Legged Spider
Crawling In Search Engines !

Reason Number 5 :

You can have a brunch of keywords in your content and got rank in the top of the first page of Google in your particular niche, but if your content does not deliver the quality that people are searching for, seriously…

You Can Never
Sell A Damn Thing !

And if it does not sell, what’s the point of getting to the top of Google in your particular niche? I believe, I had set myself clear that “Quality Content” is still the one, you should and must strive for…

Not SEO Or
Keywords Stuff !

But having said that, you can always go after SEO and Keyword Stuff when you have great amount of free time, as for now…

You Should Concentrate On Building Quality Content
To Dive Targeted Traffic Than
To Drive Search Traffic
Which Is Sometime Not Relevant !

Content is king no doubt!. I think you are totally right I can not imagine the A listers constantly writing well optimized articles only for the search engines sake. The readers comes first that is for sure.

Content being king is a no brainer for me. Without it you are dead in the water so to speak. I have tried to get involved with the SEO and keyword thing, but found it to be a waste of time for me. Even if I do get the traffic to my sight, are they going to stay or even come back again? Content – Content – Content!!!!! Thanks for the post my friend!

There are some cases where you may not need recurring visitors to be successful.. like having a website that soft sells products. You just want them to click on your affiliate link and buy the product. Content may be king… but life isn’t a vacuum. You can’t spend all your time writing unique content… and have no time to do anything else. If anything weak content + heavy linkbuilding beats great content + weak linkbuilding IMO.

I think SEO is very important and its a very reliable source of traffic. And this with search engine traffic is that with the increase of internet users it also grows. If you can rank high for a keyword like “make money online” then you can easily make money.

Nishadha@Make Money Blogging – Hmmm… there is no proof that when you rank high for keyword “make money online” can easily make money, if you want to check it out, you can go ask around, how much they earn a month.
Of course it will earn them SOME money but, I don’t think that’s what everyone wants.
If by earning a few hundred dollars is enough then, by all means… I have nothing to say.
Anyway, if you know SEO of course reason number 1 is out, because ur not wasting time, but still the bottom line if you ask anyone out there… “content is always the winner”

I think you should focus on SEO a bit, at least in the beginning, just to get noticed by the search engines. After your blogs/websites get indexed by the search engines then you can completely focus on delivering quality content. Consistent good content will build the reputation of your blog in the long run and will attract more visitors.

Sorry buddy, but if your goal is to make money with your blog, then you must do keyword research and try to rank for buying keywords. When people search for things they want to buy, they go to search engines, not blogs. The go to “blogs” to read hot topics and interesting shit. Not buy things.

NOBODY can or will repeat what john chow or darren or shoemoney has done.

Creating good content and keyword ranking and SEO are keys to success online.

Following the “make money online blogs” will take years to make any money. Yes you should start a blog about your passion which will be your main blog, but use good seo, keyword ranking strategies, don’t keyword stuff, but use the keywords throughout. But you should be INTERNET MARKETING while working on your passion blog. Don’t be stupid and have just one blog and hope for the best.

Those gurus tell you how to make money by social blogging which doesn’t work very well because social traffic sucks compare to search traffic.

Reply

Eric June 27, 2009 at 5:52 am

@elmot – seo is simple! especially with wordpress.

all in one seo pack, tags,
KW in title, tags, seo pack
then build backlinks with your keywords via article marketing, social bookmarking
done
build more backlinks until you rank in the top spot in SE’s

NOT HARD STUFF. posting everday is harder than seo, trust me.

rinse and repeat

Reply

The Bad Blogger June 27, 2009 at 7:37 am

Havoc Marketing – I only use the All-In-One SEO pack plugin, when I started this blog, but till today what it had bring to my blog, I can’t see after all.

Liane YoungBlogger – Ya… DoshDosh is a good example. his the same like Frank Kern, who build not search traffic but fans, which of course when products are recommend it is more likely the fans will buy not the search traffic….

elmot – I’m also an idiot in SEO, I had try to learn and implant, but it seems like… you know praying for an invisible thing which obviously you cannot see.

Eric – You should post your comments to John Chow, shoemoney and Problogger, and I GUESS this is what they will reply, “go ahead and do your best.”

You say, “When people search for things they want to buy, they go to search engines, not blogs. They go to “blogs” to read hot topics and interesting shit. Not buy things.”

Then those blogs that does product review can just close shop.

You say, “Those gurus tell you how to make money by social blogging which doesn’t work very well because social traffic sucks compare to search traffic.”

Then Facebook, twitter and all web 2.0 can close shop.

You say, “Following the “make money online blogs” will take years to make any money.”

Then all of us should follow who?

You want to know where I get my traffic? Social bookmarking, Facebook, Twitter, Article Directories, A Few web 2.0 sites (sorry can’t reveal this, I will in the future) and none are from search engine.

I doesn’t know how I got Page Rank 3, may be Google’s spider sees that my content is worth that rank, hmmm… may be I don’t know, course I really can’t see what’s behind the X-ray of search engine.

You say, “posting everyday is harder than seo.”

posting everyday is hard is because, you don’t know your topic well enough, tell me which SEO experts had a blog rank 5 and above, if you can find, I will trust you.

There’s absolutely none not even page rank 4 I think, why because, “content” always win, no doubt.

Hey Eric, I was wondering, why you never have the guts to show your face and your links?

I know you did comment on Alvin’s blog, trying to find the loop holes of Alvin’s success, you know what, I approve your comment’s is because I want all my readers to know you and put you as an example that they should not follow.

And thanks for becoming “my Bad example”

Yes, Content is King for most people. Keyword research is a must to have your posts rank well in google. You want to know why johnchow, shoemoney, and problogger gets so much traffic from google. Because their posts rank on the first page of google for the keywords of their posts.

Telling people to dump seo is completely wrong. I have out rank people with my posts on my old blog because I did seo for those posts. The top bloggers have over 1,000 posts and most of those posts rank well in the search engines because of seo and tons of people linking back to their posts with author text.(Which is off site seo)

You want to say content is king. Well guess what? Its SEO!

Reply

The Bad Blogger June 27, 2009 at 10:24 pm

Deneil Merritt – You have your opinion, I have mind, is all out personal, you can try to talk me out with all the reason of why SEO is important, but to me, I got to say, I’m SEO idiot, as you say SEO is king, may be you should ask all top blogger whether your “SEO is king” is right or wrong…. I think you should….

To me if SEO can sell, then tell me how does all those big time product launches profit a million dollar a day? Look they are all content, they doesn’t need to rank high in Google, and still can rack in a million dollar sales, compare to those top site in Google, tell me how much they earn ?

Reply

Deneil Merritt June 28, 2009 at 4:18 am

You right is my opinion, to prove my point go to your blog stats. Look at the total number of monthly visits and take away all the visits from search engines. (All the search engines) Then you tell me that SEO isn’t important.

No matter how you put it content is part of SEO.

I write for my readers but I do my keyword research to get new readers from the search engines. Also, I got one question for you.

Do you have the “All in SEO” plugin installed?

The Bad Blogger June 28, 2009 at 5:14 am

Deneil Merritt – I’m using it, as I had say in my previous comment, but I never really thought about it, since everyone is using, of course I also install it.

But the question that most people cannot answer me including you, is…

Can we see the search engine?

and

How long does the search engine really find our site?

You know till today no one is able to really answer this two question, I mean who can see the spider working? and who knows how long the spider really did see you and rank you?

Reply

Deneil Merritt June 28, 2009 at 2:10 pm

To answer your questions. Yes and depends on you.

If you have “AWStats” in your cpanel or have the wordpress plugin “online users” You can see them and how many times they visited your site. I have used online users on my old blog. I can tell you every time you make a post the yahoo and google bot comes running to your site. (Yahoo sends around 1- 5 bots)

That should answer both of your questions.

Deneil Merritt – As I have said you have your rights and opinion in SEO stuff, to me, I always believe what people want and not what people need, in real live internet business, unless it sells, or else I will never take waste information into consideration.
What I mean is, if SEO can be sold to rack in Profit, of course it is worth learning, but if it can’t be sold, what’s the point of learning it?
If you ever watch the video in this post, there is an important lesson at about 6 to 7 minutes, he said “you pray for something you want, God never give, and what you say? God’s will…. Why don’t you just skip the praying part and go right into God’s will.”

It means if everyone does SEO just to get to the top of Google to earn money online, then why don’t just skip the SEO part and get right into earning the money.

It doesn’t mean getting rank high in Google can earn a lot of money, no one in the industry of IM, Blogging and business even dare to say, because the selling part is not to get to the top of Google but to get to the top of customers.

That is why, if SEO is able to be sold, then by all means learning it is important, but if it can’t be sold what’s the point of learning it when it can’t be sold.

I don’t believe in SEO and I doesn’t care about search engine, so no deal…

Reply

Deneil Merritt June 28, 2009 at 5:52 pm

Well for one SEO can be sold. It’s sold every time you sell a link on your websites. If you knew it you could sell it as a service. (Which I do) SEO is about traffic to your website. Its up to you to make it about money. Everybody has their own reasons to get traffic to their sites.

For many internet marketers SEO is very important because it brings in targeted visitors that are already in the mood to “buy” so selling them something is fairly simple.

As far as not believing in SEO. Ask yourself what would happen if nobody link to this blog. (EVER!) and no traffic came from search engines. What would happen?
.-= Deneil Merritt´s last blog ..Become A Blogger =-.

The Bad Blogger June 28, 2009 at 6:26 pm

Deneil Merritt – Ya.. for many internet marketer SEO are important, but I’m the group of people which is not in the “many.”

If you ever read about Gary Halbert, John Carlton and Dan Kennedy stuff, you will realize in order to earn money is all about how you sell your content, a simple plain website with words, that does not count on keywords but vital information with words that sell not rank.

I never really go into optimizing my blog for search engine, people link up with with a reason and people come to my blog for a reason, and visitors pass by my blog for a reason…

And the reason is simply this… “information” not SEO service of any type.

Reply

Deneil Merritt June 28, 2009 at 11:23 pm

Once again you not getting the point of SEO. Yes, you provide information. The point of SEO is for people that normally wouldn’t see your information to see them. Yes, your readers link to you and their readers see your information. Doing SEO for your information allows the people looking for that information to find it. (That normally would not see it)

Hmm, I see my rebuttle to your comment on SEO was not published.

SE’s are where you find qualtiy, targeted customers looking to buy something. Daneil, your right. SEO is king in my book.

I have a few websites that have very little content, but are targeted to SE’s and give info and advice to people looking for a specific solution to a problem, or a product. Those sites are making me money month after month! I haven’t touched them in months because they rank well in the SE’s for my keywords. So I keep getting targeted (buying ready) traffic. Gotta love the internet.

Oh, and I don’t have to keep twittering, or posting to facebook, and all that crap. LMAO

The reason you hear it lots of times is because its true. You can keep “not” doing SEO but will see why only selected posts gets traffic. Big bloggers get traffic to their old blog posts because they did their SEO for them.

If you want, I can point you to a blogger whom owns some where around 500 mini sites and all get traffic from search engines and he makes over $14k a month from them.

Truly it is funny that you follow Gary Halbert every word. Good luck with your blogging without SEO.

Since Gary earns million without the use of SEO, I rather take the advice from a guy like him who earns million more then a guy who earn $14k a month using SEO.

Majority will choose to listen to million as to thousand… that is why the best marketing wizard always wins the place in the marketing world.

Charles – Big Idea Blogger – I’m not sure about Shoemoney or John Chow whether or not they are SEO or PPC, but I’m damn sure Frank Kern said in his recent launch video preview for his mass control 2.0, his not in the business with keyword and SEO, so it might be clear that his mass control 2.0 of earning big dollars online doesn’t concern keyword and SEO…

Deneil Merritt – ur right, but I doesn’t know, I just love to do what I do… that is why even though it takes up a lot of time getting traffic, at least you know the market of your niche is like, to me you got to do, in order to know…

when you do social media marketing, you are going into the mind of people who are in your niche, you will know and understand what’s the latest news or the type of topic people are waving about, and from there you know what to write what to sell and what to offer to them… this is what I called…

Relationship Building !

If I were to use SEO to gain traffic with just those keywords that rank me high in search engine, do you think the people who key in the keyword is finding what you are posting on your blog?

Percentage is against you, just look ate Alvin Phang and Carl who rank in the first page of Google, I believe in terms of traffic I lost, but in terms of content… I seriously dare said “I won”

Why?

Look at my comments for each post…. is just holy lots of discussion, agreement, disagreement and even negative and positive comments….

So what say u?

Yes, a person can do social media or seo and still come out on top. I don’t see why would anybody dump one of them. It doesn’t make any sense at all.

I do both social media marketing and seo. I am sure in 6 months I will be above most bloggers in my niche.

2 things you fail to realize is that…

1) SEO can the traffic to your blog and you can build the relationship from there.

2) Since you built this blog around social marketing the moment you stop using twitter, facebook, etc. Your high levels of traffic will end.

For someone who is new to the world of websites I can agree with you. But i feel SEO is the most steady way of getting traffic, but that is just my view :D

Farrhad A – ya … but when Google changes the rule… SEO web base sites or blogs will be in trouble !

You are wrong, google make changes the rules all the time without telling us, yet those who know SEO stay on the first page for their keywords. So just because you don’t know nor care about SEO. Don’t tell others to dump SEO.

You are so dead on. Creating content has to be first. I have family members who try to guilt me into research, keywords, email, autoresponders etc, etc, etc; of course they don’t make money online. I guess that’s why they want me to feel guilty.

Well, you can’t say keywords are not in use, unless you do PPC (Pay-Per-Click) and email and autoresponder well… it is up to personal on whether or not it should be use… but anyway… still content is number 1.

Great Post bad blogger. I have never done any seo stuff and I get almost no traffic at all from google but my blog is one of the top blogs in my niche which is forex trading. So I guess you don’t need Google.

However I think that the traffic potential for google is huge so that is why I am hiring a guy to do my seo stuff. Because I want to keep making good content.

Hi The Bad Blogger! Today is the first day I have arrived on your post but I must say that you have your own very unique way of writing a post. That’s a trademark of a good and genuine blogger.

I think if you can market your blog well through Social Media then you do not need SEO because it is the Social Media where you find real people.

Content is always the kind. Good/Unique/Fresh content with a little SEO and good quality backlinks can go a long way getting website traffic.

You are right if you don’t care about the search engines. And You will get noticed by having great content but it doesn’t hurt to optimize an article if you know how to. Word of mouth does do a good job as well. I prefer to be well rounded in all areas.

BTW, your spell check might be correcting “bunch” cause you have “Brunch” all over your article, or maybe you were just thinking about brunch?
