4 Effective Ways to Overcome Skepticism!

As a new blogger, it’s really easy to be skeptical of the industry and worry about whether blogging really will work for you; it’s also very natural. Skepticism often serves people well, particularly when it leads them to perform due diligence and verify things that seem…

Off Kilter !

The problem with skepticism though is that when left unchecked, it leads to a vast array of negative emotions, including jealousy and cynicism, which do nothing but…

Poison Your Spirit and
Turn People Away !

Today, I’d like to talk about how you can use skepticism to your advantage, while overcoming it in a way that keeps you looking for what really matters, which is…

How to Move Forward !

(Bottom Photo Credit to: phozfate)

1.  Assume Everyone is a Liar

I realize that this sounds contrary to what I said about being cynical, but think about it like this…

What Good Does it Do to Only
Half Trust Someone ?

Rather than worry about who’s telling the truth, and who’s lying about income or results, why not just assume that everyone is lying right out of the gate. In doing this, you can quickly turn your focus from others, and…

Onto Your Own Business !

2.  Analyze the Business, Not the People

Take a close look at your skepticism and try and follow where it comes from. Most of the time, you’ll be judging people, not their systems, and if that’s the case with you, then try…

Switching it Around !

If we can assume that everyone is a liar, then we can then take the next step of determining whether the business model could actually work for us. In other words, just because the marketer is bad, doesn’t mean the market is bad as well. When you take people out of the equation, it’s much easier to…

Analyze a System !

3.  Test and Iterate

In the world of startups, they do what’s called iteration, which means that they quickly build something, test it, and then add on to the product until it’s either complete, or…

They’ve Found a Product that Sells !

You should do the same thing. Rather than worrying about whether you can really “make it” in this business, start testing it for yourself. Try it, and if it works, great. If it doesn’t…

Iterate and Try Again !

4.  Focus On the Good

If you take a step back and talk with people in your industry, you’ll be able to find a core group of truly successful people that you can look to for inspiration. We get what we project, so if you stop worrying about “will it work for me” and instead look at the good that can happen, you are much more likely to get past…

Skepticism and Onto Success !

There is no single skepticism knockout punch, but the way I see it is that you are either in, or you are out. There’s no reason to walk the line and/or stand in the middle.

Either Do, or Do Not !
There is No Try !

Nothing will happen when you don’t do anything! If something deep inside tells you to do an online venture, then make it happen.

Yes, that’s the way, but not many can really overcome the devil that’s stopping it, especially when that someone ears is listening to the negative of an online venture unless as I had stated above… make everyone a liar.

Hi Wong,

It’s very important to stay positive and focused to get results. I know sometimes when you see that your competitors are performing far better than you, You feel frustrated but at that you should study what your competitors are doing different for achieving such results.

Yes, you are absolutely right, just like recent Traffic Generation contest, when the results are up I was sad and disappointed because I wasn’t one of the winner, but still by studying the results I know it is not about how good your content is, is all about how good your marketing is because the first 3 winner especially the first had written a content that wasn’t really a content that give specific details….

I think you are right but still many newbies get worried from professionals on top competition edges. Many elder brother also told me that you must focus on the target and forget about other competitors . Just try to give your best efforts and you can see the results.

This is actually pretty solid advice, I think, even if at first glance it sounds a bit harsh. People are the variable in equations, and if you take the variable out, then things are a bit easier to calculate and easier to come to your decision.

I’m going to remember your advice.

Thanks for remembering my advice, the best is to think everyone is a liar, I mean by doing that you can get more focus on stuff that are important and ignore the rest that’s less important.

Those are some really strong advice which I strongly agree with, especially the one about assuming that everyone is lying. Sometimes when you see income reports of people earning +1000 dollars monthly while you’re stuck in the -100 dollars, you start losing hope, and may start questioning if blogging is really meant for you! Assuming no one is a perfect blogger, will make you want to strive to be a close to perfect blogger!

Well… when I saw someone from no where start making $1000 +, I usually assume that’s a lie, I do not care much about how much he earn, all I care is whether or not his strategy works for me or not. And that’s where I will focus on using the strategy to see what’s the results I get. So what will you do if you see someone making a $1000? What will you do?

Point #1 made me smile. I used to say something like that to my bandmates right before the performance to get rid of the nervousness and the butterflies in our stomach. Lol
