As you can see, I have done a few changes to my blog theme, and since I change… I must well change the rules for this blog commenting section. As you may or may not know, I usually accept and approve any comment that make senses to me that it is not…

A Spam !

Well… what I mean by comment that make sense are comment that looks “short” with only a few words such as “Great Post…,” or “Thanks for the tips…,” or “Well written…,” or etc… etc… etc…, you name it. You see, from now on I will disapprove all this type of comment… and it doesn’t matter who you are… if I spot it…

I Will Delete It !

Why I’m doing this? Well, I always wanted to communicate more as in one friend to another. I feel bore when the comment are short, because I doesn’t really know how in the world should I reply other then saying…

“Thanks For Reading And
Commenting On My Blog !”

I mean… that sucks right? I rather had one quality comment then ten boring comment. I want my blog to be a community where you could communicate like as though you and me had been friends for a very long time. What I do mean is…

Comments Like A Friend
Talking To Another Friend
About Certain Topic !

A Fact About Problogger !

Look: Problogger may had very large amount of comments but, I can bet with you, he only reply to those that he knew as a friend. Why? Here’s why: Because the rest of them are comment that aren’t worth his time to even reply or worst… to even read it.

You see, most people out there only comment for two purpose which are…

Getting A Link Back Or
Getting Traffic !

To be honest with you, I also comment to get link back and traffic.  But… I still have one more purpose in mind, which only a few blogger out there have and that is…

Building Relationship !

It doesn’t matter what sort of relationship, as long as it connects the dots, guess what? Something will happen. And you ask what will happen? Well… you might be teaming with someone to create product and sell or you might get more potential prospects to become customers or you might get extremely targeted traffic to your site or you might even…

Meet Your Dream
Opposite Sex Partner !
(Who Knows ?)

Anyway hope you know what I mean by “building relationship.” Okay, back to my comment rules that I had decided to change, below are the the rules to follow when commenting on my blog:

  • Your comment must be at least 2 sentence and above.
  • Your comment must be related to the post you are commenting.
  • Your comment must have both of the above rules.

Isn’t those rules easy to follow? But hell, there are some people who just can’t follow, sorry dude… if I have to delete your comment. In any case, the above rules will be pin up as a notice to all my post, so that whoever wanted to comment will know before hand that…

They Had Been Warned !

Well, that’s it for me now.

Stay With The Rules,

The Bad Blogger

Also Known As “The Strange Kind Of Dude”

MY QUESTION TO YOU :

I did like to know, what’s your opinion about the changes of my rules to commenting, is it good or bad, is it better for you or will you be piss off with the rules or will you be more careful in commenting on my blog… what’s your take? Don’t worry, I accept open comment as long as you…

Stick To The Rules !

You should do what I do and subcontract a gypsy with to put a curse on anyone who misuses your blog.

It will be hard for people to type short “Great Post” entries if they are turned into a frog.

Anyhow, It makes great sense to have some sort of a filter, even if I do a lame post cause I am tired some day, and have a comment canned for insufficient coolness!

As long as you stick to the rules, I will never be piss off, but I believe you are not that type of person I know. Anyway, I’m writing this post only to tell some people who try to write short comment just to get traffic.

well , this post tells how fed up you are with irrelevant comments , thats true, dont accept one liners in first place . but let your commenters get the link juice by linking to their keyword , i think thats fair , if you are a dofollow blog .

Wow , nice question , I would love to answer this . No there is no single guy , but a whole team called Iphone dev Team . They develop the jailbreak . People do have issues with jailbreak , but then its one in 1000 , and issues are minor . This ws the first JB , so not very Stable . Expect a stable release later next month ..

It is a good policy to remove , thanks and great post only comments. I guess it depends on the post as well. I usually delete those kind of comments but allow them in few posts like how to do something posts. I think its pretty easy to spot spammers because usually they stuff keywords in there :-)

Ya… but some blogger (I do not want to name them) comment with praise such ” that’s a good post, and well written, thanks for the information.” When I see that, I knew he or she never read my stuff…

I hate it when people comment simply for the sake of getting a link back to their blog. I don’t even care about building links through comments anymore. What’s the point? You will get so much more when you are communicating genuinely with people.

I love what you said “You will get so much more when you are communicating genuinely with people.”
You see.. this is a tactic, what I mean is you communicate genuinely and getting much more under the radar. I wonder why is it so hard to write a comment that some people had to spam just to get a link or some click through to their blog…

Hah! Like your site already. These rules are good. Sometime people need to be told how to do things the right way. They like to be followers often. You won’t have a problem from me as I not called Chatterbox Chuck for no reason. Sometimes I’m the only one who’s comments add up to more words that all the other comments combined.

Wish I had seen what the site looked like before. I will be changing my site soon as well to make more to my liking.

So many people these days are trying every desperate measure to generate traffic onto their sites. And as you’ve pointed out, many people often just leave a short “spam” comment just so they create that backlink. In my opinion, it totally destroys the whole concept of online blogging. We blog online so that we can express our feelings, information, or whatever it may be to others and every now and then, it is nice to get some feed back. That feed back allows us to create relationships like you said. Now, so many people just leave a short “Awesome post!” that it really does depreciate the whole idea of blogging. Great post and keep up the good work! :)

Ya ur right… even company trying to sell online does spamming in the comment section, especially those that are selling sexual related and also health products….

I delete comments all the time, but I never delete comments like “Awesome post” or “Thank you for sharing this amazing tip.” (although they’re not at least 2 sentences). That’s because I like feedback (especially when people say nice things about me), although the reason they’re writing might be just to get a link.

It would be awesome to get conversations going in the comments, but that’s really hard. One thing is the build a relationship, I always try, but I also want to add value to the blogpost via my readers.

I know what you mean with those posts.
I still see them on very respected blogs and I wonder “If I can easily spot that the commenter didn’t even read the post, then can’t the blog owner/editor?” Or do they know it is just spamm but they think others wont notice and think the blog is very popular?
Because when I see many of those comments then I am less inclined to comment.
